EWING, N.J. (AP) - A 21-year-old man has been arrested in a home invasion robbery that left a 92-year-old woman tied up in the basement of her New Jersey home.

Joseph Blanche was arrested Wednesday and was charged with kidnapping, robbery, aggravated assault and related offenses.

Ewing police said earlier this week that two men beat the woman, bound her with appliance cords and dragged her to the basement early Tuesday. She suffered a fractured skull and brain bleeding as a result of the incident.

Police say that the victim’s car was stolen in the robbery and was recovered Wednesday.

Investigators didn’t disclose details of Blanche’s arrest. Police haven’t said whether they have identified a second suspect.

It’s unclear if Blanche has an attorney who could comment on the charges.
