DENVER, Colo. (AP) - Denver police responding to a call about gunshots recovered six weapons recently stolen from an outdoor recreation shop.

KMGH-TV reports (https://bit.ly/22V9I9G ) that police found a bullet hole in a car door and searched the house. They discovered a 21-year-old man hiding under the bed with four children and another man hiding in a bathroom cabinet.

Police say the 21-year-old told them a rifle misfired while he was intoxicated. Officers say the rifle’s serial number matched that on a gun taken during a smash-and-grab at Bass Pro Guns.

Police say the Bass Pro price tag was still attached.

In total, officers discovered five rifles and a crossbow. The 21-year-old man has been charged with burglary, theft and reckless endangerment.
