MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) - Police on Long Island say a man who was convicted of posing as a contractor and bilking elderly customers has been arrested again on similar charges.

Police in the Village of Malverne say 29-year-old Robert Cohan was arrested Friday on grand larceny and scheme to defraud charges.

Police say he approached an elderly man in January, told him he was a general contractor and offered to repair his home and his driveway for about $22,000. They say the man later called Cohan and tried to cancel the repairs, but police say Cohan wouldn’t return the money.

In 2014, Cohan was sentenced to serve between 1 and 3 years in prison after pleading guilty to grand larceny and tax fraud charges.

His attorney did not immediately return a call for comment.
