READING, Pa. (AP) - Teleflex plans to close an eastern Pennsylvania operation by the end of 2018 and relocate all 360 jobs there.

About 170 of the jobs will be moved to manufacturing facilities in Mexico and the Czech Republic.

The company, based near Wayne, is closing the operation in Bern Township, Berks County. That’s near Reading, about 60 miles northwest of Philadelphia.

The company makes medical products used for respiratory and cardiac care, urology and surgery.

About 130 workers who perform research, development and quality control will be moved to a new technical center, that company officials say will be somewhere near the current operation.

The other 60 jobs will be moved to a company site in Morrisville, North Carolina, and the company’s headquarters in Chester County.
