SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) - Police say a young boy found wandering near a Sarasota apartment complex was apparently having a sleepover with relatives and left the house through an unlocked door when he woke up.

Spokeswoman Genevieve Judge says a woman walking near the Lexington Apartments found the boy around 5:30 a.m. Friday. She took the child, believed to be between 1 and 2, to a nearby fire station.

Police say the parents called 911 to report the child missing when they woke up.

Judge says the parents aren’t going to be charged.
