GOLDONNA, La. (AP) - A Natchitoches Parish cattle farmer says his cows continue to die of poisoning despite his cousin’s earlier arrest.

KSLA-TV (https://bit.ly/1YlaQNn) reports that Talmadge Brown Jr. was arrested in December on a charge of aggravated animal cruelty by sheriff’s deputies after admitting to poisoning a cow owned by Kenneth Trichel.

But Trichel says two more cows have tested positive for antifreeze poisoning since Brown posted bail and was released. He blames authorities for inaction. Trichel has also sued Brown.

He says his Brown, who lives nearby, may be retaliating for a noise complaint Trichel made against Brown for setting off explosives late at night.

Trichel says he has about 100 cows on a roughly 600-acre farm.

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Detective Tim Key declines comment, citing an ongoing investigation.
