KEY WEST, Fla. (AP) - Key West officials want the producers of the annual Fantasy Fest to contribute more money to defray the costs for the 10-day event.

The Key West Citizen reports (https://bit.ly/22msEIX ) that the city spent about $240,000 on Fantasy Fest in October, but event producers were only contractually obligated to contribute $62,747 for city services.

Those services include police, fire and public works overtime hours, barricades and cleanup.

The Key West Tourist Development Association’s contract covering last year’s Fantasy Fest has expired. The city has presented two options: a five-year contract that would increase their 2015 payment by $10,000 each year, or a three-year contract including annual $10,000 increases and giving the city an option to renew for another two years.

Vice Chairman Steve Robbins says the board is still deciding.
