LAS VEGAS (AP) - Firefighters say a family’s pet cat has died and one person suffered burns in an early morning house fire in Las Vegas.
Fire officials say crews were called shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday to find a garage engulfed in flames and the blaze extending into the home.
Clark County Assistant Fire Chief Larry Haydu says it took firefighters seven minutes to get the fire under control.
According to Haydu, one person was taken to the hospital for burns to his chest.
A cat did not survive.
Haydu says four family members have been displaced.
Investigators estimate damages to be about $100,000.
The estimate includes a car that was in the garage.
