DELAWARE, Ohio (AP) - Police say three people were killed in central Ohio after a couple involved in a highway crash and someone trying to help them were hit by another car.
The accident happened Saturday night in Delaware just north of Columbus along I-71.
Authorities say events leading to the crash began when a northbound car lost control and hit a guardrail about 9:40 p.m. A second car stopped and the driver got out to help the couple in the first car.
Police say the driver of another car going north then lost control and hit the three people, all of whom were pronounced dead at the scene.
State police are investigating.
