Police say Rotterdam man killed after attacking officer

ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a Rotterdam man was fatally shot by police after slashing an officer with a knife.

The Times Union of Albany reported (https://bit.ly/1qC8jUm ) that police were called to a house on Roberta Road around 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police said a man in the house slashed at the officers, injuring one, and an officer fired his weapon. The man was killed.

The officer who was hurt has non-life threatening injuries.
