BOSTON (AP) - U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren is hosting a “business matchmaker” event aimed at helping local companies explore business opportunities with government agencies and contractors.

The Massachusetts Democrat will offer opening remarks along with Republican Gov. Charlie Baker and the U.S. Small Business Administration Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet.

The event will take place Monday at the University of Massachusetts Lowell’s Tsongas Center.

Warren said the event will provide a forum for contractors and government agencies to meet individually with qualified small business owners - and allow small businesses to highlight their services and goods and learn how to take advantage of business opportunities with the federal government.

Class sessions will be offered on topics related to federal contracting opportunities, and training to help women-owned small businesses to grow their business.
