GERING, Neb. (AP) - A free workshop in western Nebraska will train people to be youth fishing instructors.

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will offer the training from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on April 24 at Platte Valley Bank.

The volunteers who complete the course will then have access to the commission’s loaner fishing equipment and educational materials to help conduct their own classes.

Contact Larry Pape at larry.pape@nebraska.gov to reserve a spot in the workshop.
