WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) - Wilmington police are investigating after one man was killed and a second man wounded in what was apparently an exchange of gunfire at a public housing complex.
Lt. Kelvin Hargrove tells local media it happened about 6:30 p.m. Saturday when the city’s automated gunfire detection system indicated gunshots at the complex.
When police went to the scene, they found a wounded man on a porch. He died on the way to the hospital.
A second shooting victim either drove himself or was taken to the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound.
There have been no arrests and the name of the man who was killed has not been released.
