BOSTON (AP) - Officials say three people were hospitalized, one with life-threatening injuries, after two vehicles collided over the weekend in Boston’s Roxbury section.

Officer Stephen McNulty says the crash occurred around 7:45 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Elm Hill Avenue and Seaver Street.

Fire officials say two of the victims, an adult and one child, were trapped inside their Nissan Sentra before being extricated by firefighters.

Two victims were transported to Boston Medical Center, including one to the pediatric unit. The other victim was taken to Brigham & Women’s Hospital.

It was not immediately clear which of the victims was the most severely injured.

A police crash reconstruction unit remained at the scene until after 11 p.m.
