TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey man accused of posing as a teenage boy online to ask underage girls to produce sexually explicit images of themselves has been convicted on several child pornography charges.

Erik Vanderbeck faces up to 90 years in prison when he’s sentenced July 14.

Federal prosecutors say the 49-year-old Bayonne man was convicted Friday on two counts of producing child porn and single counts of possessing and distributing it.

Prosecutors say Vanderbeck met various girls through online chat applications and in chat rooms. Over the course of their correspondence, he would send them nude images and ask them to send him nude photos of themselves.

Vanderbeck also allegedly used nude images he got from one victim to pretend to be a teenage girl in online chats with other individuals.
