EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Officials hope to reopen a lumber plant in west Eugene soon following a Saturday night fire.

Eugene Springfield Battalion Chief Jeff Kronser told The Register-Guard (https://bit.ly/1VikWQQ ) that the cause of the fire at the Weyerhaeuser plant is still under investigation. He says the fire was extinguished in about 20 minutes and no injuries were reported.

Weyerhaeuser spokesman Gregg Miller said Sunday that damage to the mill seems to be minor. He says crews were doing repairs Sunday and there’s no long-term damage to fix.

Miller estimates that more than 170 people work at the mill over multiple shifts.
