CLARENDON, Ark. (AP) - Officials say the body of a commercial fisherman missing since last week has been found near a dock along the White River at Clarendon.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday the body of 46-year-old Casey Ward was found Tuesday. Ward was fishing April 4 with his father near the confluence of the Cache and White rivers before the two went separate ways.

Chief Deputy Richard Smith told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette he was searching with a retired game warden when they found the body in about 27 feet of water.

KATV in Little Rock reported that Sheriff Michael Neal said the body was found in the last round of searching for the day.

Smith said Ward’s body was sent to the state Crime Laboratory to determine how he died.
