BOSTON (AP) - The Wyoming Symphony Orchestra has withdrawn an invitation to a Boston University music professor being sued for harassment by two former students.

Eric Ruske had been slated to perform as a guest French horn player this weekend for the Casper, Wyoming-based orchestra’s concert “Finale” on the Casper College campus.

Orchestra executive director Rachel Bailey said the group cancelled Ruske’s contract after learning of a complaint filed in Suffolk Superior Court in Boston Tuesday.

Former students Erin Shyr and Maria Currie allege Ruske repeatedly harassed them in emails and texts and that university administrators showed “negligence and deliberate indifference” when they complained.

Boston University and Ruske didn’t immediately comment. The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, a national group that urged the orchestra to cancel Ruske’s performance, applauded Wednesday’s decision.
