CHARLOTTE, Tenn. (AP) - Two people have been killed and another seriously wounded during a shooting in Dickson County.

Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims of the Tuesday morning shooting in Charlotte.

Dickson County Sheriff Jeff Bledsoe tells news outlets that authorities found a wrecked vehicle and were unable to save the life of the victim inside. Deputies soon realized another victim was about a block away in a field. Bledsoe says a third person was shot and injured.

Bledsoe says authorities have found a weapon, but he couldn’t confirm if it was used during the shooting.

The sheriff’s office is working with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on the case. No possible motives have been provided by authorities.
