TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities are searching for any hikers who may have spoken to a man last seen hiking in mountains near Tucson.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department says someone saw a man fitting Mauricio Carreon-Maltos’ description in Sabino Canyon on April 8, the day Carreon-Maltos disappeared.
According to the witness, the man was speaking Spanish with other hikers near a visitor’s center between 2 and 3 p.m.
The man was wearing a black T-shirt and camouflage shorts, which is what Carreon-Maltos was last seen wearing.
Deputies are hoping to talk to any hikers who remember speaking with him.
A search for Carreon-Maltos remains ongoing.
Family members saw him earlier in the day at his home.
Carreon-Maltos is described as Hispanic, 5-foot-6 and 160 pounds with dark hair and brown eyes.
