WASHINGTON (AP) - Washington police have identified a man who was found dead in the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal in Georgetown.

Citing a police report, The Washington Post (https://wapo.st/1WrIlz1 ) says 51-year-old Osbaldo Lemus Bernal of Arlington, Virginia was pronounced dead at the scene upon being discovered floating in the water Tuesday morning.

Authorities are still awaiting the results of an autopsy, but police said in a statement that Bernal’s death does not appear to be suspicious.
