DARBY, Pa. (AP) - The first black woman to become a police chief in Delaware County has taken office.

Regina Price was sworn in during a ceremony in Darby Wednesday night.

Price recently retired after 30 years with the Riviera Beach Police Department in Florida, where she was named Officer of the Year by the Minority law Enforcement Council of Palm Beach County.

Price says she plans to promote transparency and build bridges within the community.
