ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - A former church finance manager has been convicted of stealing about $240,000 from a Rochester church.
A Monroe County jury found 44-year-old Marlo Santini of Hilton guilty on Tuesday of grand larceny in the theft from St. Monica’s Church. Prosecutors say Santini worked as its finance manager from July 2008 to June 2013 and was responsible for all bank deposits and financial records during that time.
The church used a local accounting firm to conduct an initial review of their records and forwarded those results to the police.
Santini will be sentenced on June 23.
