ST. LOUIS (AP) - A St. Louis man has been convicted of fatally shooting a bystander who was walking with her grandchildren in 2014.
A St. Louis jury deliberated less than an hour Thursday before finding 22-year-old Tommy Dora Jr. guilty of first-degree murder in the death of 46-year-old Juliette Cleveland-Davis.
Authorities say Cleveland-Davis was walking with her three grandchildren - then ages 7, 5 and 4 - when she was caught in crossfire between Dora and another man, Errick Owens. The children were unharmed.
Owens had already pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Dora’s sentencing is scheduled for May 18.
