BARTON, Ala. (AP) - A driver has been killed after colliding with a train in northwest Alabama.
Alabama State Troopers say 46-year-old Derris Lamone Cortner of Cherokee was killed Wednesday afternoon when he tried to drive a pickup truck across the railroad tracks near Colbert County’s Barton community.
The truck was hit by a Norfolk Southern train and Cortner was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alabama State Troopers are investigating the crash.
