EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (AP) - Emergency workers have recovered the body of a man, a day after the boat he was in capsized in an Eau Claire pond.

Eau Claire fire Deputy Chief Chris Bell says the man’s body was recovered from Dells Pond before noon on Thursday. He was one of two men fishing in a boat that capsized Wednesday night. The other man was able to swim to shore and call 911.

Eau Claire firefighters and police responded to lower Mt. Simon Park at 9:54 p.m. Wednesday after a capsized boat was reported.

Police Lt. Jim Southworth says neither man was wearing a life jacket.
