OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Seminole County residents are organizing a candlelight vigil for a 9-year-old boy missing for nearly 10 years while authorities, who presume the boy is dead, continue to search for his body.
The vigil for Colton Clark is scheduled for 8 p.m. April 23 at the corner of Highway 377 and Grisso Drive in Seminole.
Colton’s foster parents - Rex and Rebecca Clark - were arrested last week in connection with the disappearance of the boy in 2006. The arrest affidavit alleges the Clarks - who are also the child’s uncle and aunt - abused Colton and his brother and coerced the brother to repeat a rehearsed story to authorities after Colton disappeared.
Resident and minister Jim Benedict says he’s organizing the vigil to demonstrate Colton hasn’t been forgotten.
