FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) - Authorities say a Farmington man has been arrested in connection with a shooting outside a home.

Farmington police say 40-year-old Stanley Pearson is being held on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

They say his wife - 38-year-old Marsalee Pearson - was arrested on an unrelated warrant Thursday.

Both have been booked into the San Juan County Detention Center, but it’s unclear if either has a lawyer yet.

Police were called out to reports of a shooting around 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

They say several people were at a home when a verbal argument ensued between two men outside the residence.

Police say Stanley Pearson allegedly fired a shot with a handgun, but nobody was injured during the incident.
