PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police say a 35-year-old man riding a scooter has died after he was hit by a driver who fled the scene in Philadelphia.

The crash happened Wednesday night in the Kensington section of the city. Chief Inspector Scott Small tells The Philadelphia Inquirer that a silver Pontiac sport utility vehicle with New York tags hit the man and dragged him about 200 feet before fleeing the scene.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he later died. Authorities didn’t immediately identify the victim.

No arrests have been made.
