SUTTON, Mass. (AP) - Police say an argument involving several women in Sutton culminated with one of the women getting in her car and deliberately running down two others.

Lt. David Perry says one victim was pushed and dragged underneath the vehicle and was so seriously injured Wednesday afternoon she had to be flown to a Worcester hospital. Another victim was taken by ambulance to the hospital with less serious injuries.

The suspected driver of the vehicle, 44-year-old Stacey Piercey, fled the scene on foot but was caught nearby. She is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on charges of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and driving to endanger. It’s not clear if she has a lawyer.

Witnesses say Piercey was angry that one of the other women hugged her boyfriend.
