LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas’ unemployment has fallen to 4 percent for the month of March.
The Arkansas Department of Workforce Services said Friday the jobless rate fell from 4.2 percent in February and the current rate remains below the national unemployment rate of 5 percent.
Officials say six major industry sectors posted gains, led by the professional and business services, which added 3,300 jobs and an increase of 1,200 jobs in the leisure and hospitality sector. Employment in the manufacturing sector fell by 1,400 jobs.
The state says that Arkansas’ nonfarm jobs have increased by 28,900 since March 2015.
