BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A Buffalo man who claimed self-defense in the shooting death of another man has been found guilty of murder.
An Erie County jury on Thursday convicted 32-year-old Antone Herrod of second-degree murder in the 2014 death of 24-year-old Christopher Pratt of Buffalo.
At the time, prosecutors say, Herrod was with his girlfriend, who believed that Pratt shot her mother in 2012. Herrod also claimed self-defense, saying he believed Pratt was going to his car to get a gun. Police found no weapon in Pratt’s vehicle.
Herrod faces up to 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced May 18.
