LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Police have released the names of two people found shot to death in what Lincoln police have described as a murder-suicide.

They were identified Friday as 85-year-old Deatta Danley and her 86-year-old husband, Warren Danley. Their son Scott found the bodies in the couple’s north Lincoln apartment Thursday morning. Officer Katie Flood says it appears Warren Danley shot his wife and then himself. Their health had been deteriorating.

Flood says Deatta “Dee” Danley retired from the Lincoln Police Department in January 1984 after working as a traffic officer, in dispatch and at the service desk.
