PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police are looking for four young men who shot and wounded a woman while robbing her of her purse.

Sgt. Vince Lewis says the robbery and shooting occurred early Friday morning when four suspects confronted the woman as she walked with a friend.

Several news outlets reported that the woman was shot in the upper arm after she refused to surrender her pursue and said they’d have to shoot her. However, Lewis said he couldn’t confirm that the woman said that.

He said her wound isn’t life-threatening.

The suspects are described as white, between 18 and years old and all about 5-foot-8 and about 150 pounds.

The incident occurred about 2 a.m. near 14th Street and Southern Avenue.
