NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - A 2-year-old boy was struck and killed by a school bus in North Las Vegas.

North Las Vegas police say the boy was struck Thursday and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say it’s unclear whether the driver will face criminal charges and that speed, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.

A Clark County School District spokeswoman says the bus was leaving a nearby elementary school to drop off students when it struck the child. No students on board the bus were injured.

Neither the district nor police named the bus driver, who wasn’t injured but stayed at the scene.

Neighbors say children often play in the street.
