CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill says a student has been robbed by an armed man near a student dormitory.

The university activated its sirens and alerted the public of the presence of an armed person on campus immediately after the robbery was reported early Friday.

The school says the male suspect fled on foot upon robbing a male UNC student near Ehringhaus Residence Hall. UNC says the suspect was between 20 to 25 years old, had a goatee and was wearing a Dallas Cowboys jacket and a ski mask. No injuries were reported.

About 80 minutes later, UNC issued an “all clear” alert, saying that normal activities could be resumed.

It is unclear if the suspect was arrested.
