ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - A 37-year-old western New York man has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for the shooting death of another man.

Victor Crawford of Rochester was convicted of killing 25-year-old Aston Spalding, also of Rochester. Spalding was shot on a city street across from a school in September 2013.

Police say Spalding was shot multiple times in the mid-torso on a Sunday afternoon. The victim was pronounced dead at Strong Memorial Hospital about two hours later.

Crawford was sentenced Thursday in Monroe County Court.
