Apparently, if you have questions about the scientific veracity of and political motivation behind climate-change alarmism, the Democrats are coming for you. After reading Valerie Richardson’s April 18 front-page piece I’m checking my rearview mirror a lot more frequently (“Democrats plotted to rap climate dissenters”).

Being one who struggles to believe the doomsday prognostications of Al Gore and his merry band of enviro-cops, I have to wonder when a midnight knock at my door will announce the arrival of the ‘green gestapo.’ Will I be allowed to dress before I’m hustled into a black, windowless van and whisked away to wherever they will incarcerate the millions of other citizens who share my demurs? Will my wife be permitted visits to cheer my lonely solitude?

And what of other countries whose dearth of environmental activists render them oblivious to the pollution around them — countries that, when compared to the American environment, make our nation look like the Garden of Eden? How, exactly, is regulating American business and industry into sterility going to save the planet if no other nation wants to play along?

Many things have occurred over the course of President Obama’s time in office. I am hard-pressed to find anything laudable about his performance as the leader of the government we citizens subsidize.

Now, I’m told, certain personal opinions will be considered criminal. So be it, but be advised: I’ll not go gentle into that good night.
