SYDNEY (AP) - Bruce Djite scored two first-half goals to give Adelaide United a 2-0 win over Sydney FC, moving the South Australian state side into first place in the A-League with one regular-season round remaining.

The loss ended Sydney’s chances of making the top-six playoffs.

Adelaide leads the Western Sydney Wanderers by one point. Melbourne City and Brisbane are two points behind.

Brisbane could end the weekend in first place with a win Sunday over Newcastle.
