CARROLLTON, Ala. (AP) - Court records show a teacher in west Alabama accused of having sex with a female student six times has been charged.
Local news media report Saturday that 32-year-old Pickens County teacher James Franklin Parker III is charged with a school employee having sex with a student under the age of 19. He was arrested Wednesday.
Parker teaches math and the head basketball coach at the private school.
The Pickens County Sheriff’s Department says the alleged sex acts did not occur at the school.
Authorities say the incident involving Jamie Parker happened between December 2014 and May 2015.
His 30-year-old wife Charli Jones Parker was also arrested this week on similar charges. She is the head coach for the girls’ basketball team. The couple has a son.
