LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities have released the identities of two people found dead in a Las Vegas home after an armed assailant fired a gun in the street, killing a police dog.

The Clark County coroner’s office said Saturday that 31-year-old Branden Hughes and 46-year-old Felicia Simone Wimberly-Hughes both died of gunshot wounds.

Their deaths have been ruled homicides.

Police were called Thursday after reports that shots had been fired and a man was waving a gun on Fast Elk Street.

Officers deployed the K-9, a Belgian Malinois named Nicky, to subdue the suspect.

Nicky was subsequently fatally wounded.

Police shot the alleged gunman, who was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.

His identity has not been released.
