MILWAUKEE (AP) - A Milwaukee man accused of fatally stabbing his infant daughter and another man last year has been sentenced to life in prison, with no chance of parole for 60 years.

Twenty-one-year-old Ruben Garcia was sentenced Friday. He pleaded guilty in September to two counts of first-degree intentional homicide in the deaths of his daughter, 5-month-old Kairii Dailey, and 39-year-old Paul Kucharczyk (koo-CHAR’-zik).

The Journal Sentinel (https://bit.ly/1VhOL2J ) reports Garcia sought to be found legally not responsible due to mental illness. In January, a jury found Garcia had a mental disease or defect, but that it didn’t prevent him from understanding the wrongfulness of actions or conforming to the law.
