YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say a man who has been on the run since 2013 over a charge he sexually assaulted a girl with special needs in Puerto Rico has been shot and taken into custody in Ohio.

The Vindicator (https://bit.ly/1PNzrUI ) reports 30-year-old Luis Cruz Ramos was captured around 1 p.m. Friday after a manhunt. He is being held at a hospital under police guard and expected to recover. He was shot by a member of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Fugitive Task Force.

Authorities say Ramos fled a traffic stop in Campbell early Thursday, firing shots into two police cruisers and shooting at other officers. He abandoned his vehicle near a cemetery in Boardman. Authorities pursued him on foot until he was captured.
