MONROE, La. (AP) - The Monroe Regional Airport will temporarily close its main runway during the day Monday through Wednesday for maintenance on lighting cables.

The News-Star reports (https://tnsne.ws/1X3TGUa ) the closure will be for daytime only and is necessary to expedite the completion of the work from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The lighting will be operational every evening before lights are required.

For the airlines, the project means there will be weight restrictions on all flights, causing fewer passengers on every flight.

Director of Operations Richard Nelson says once the repairs are completed, the runway will reopen.
