SOUTH HARRISON, N.J. (AP) - The pilot of a small plane escaped serious injury when it crashed into a field in South Harrison Township.

Gloucester County authorities told NJ.com (bit.ly/1POqavQ) that the plane overturned after the crash occurred around 4 p.m. Saturday. But the pilot only had minor injuries and he was treated at the scene.

The pilot’s name was not released. He apparently was the only person in the aircraft when the crash occurred.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
