LAS VEGAS (AP) - A rock climber who was found dead after a possible medical emergency at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area has been identified.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported (https://bit.ly/1W1IokQ) Friday that the Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the climber as 59-year-old Thomas Allard of Las Vegas.

The coroner did not give Allard’s cause of death.

But his son tells the newspaper that his father suffered some kind of cardiac episode.

Ashley Allard says his father collapsed but did not fall because he was in a harness.

Police were called Thursday morning after Allard reportedly suffered from a medical episode while climbing at the park near the first turn-out.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
