ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (AP) - A 170-foot replica Spanish galleon has returned to St. Augustine’s marina after leaving to sail to other ports.

The St. Augustine Record reports (https://bit.ly/1SGkj07 ) that the 495-ton El Galeon returned to the city’s marina on Friday morning and will be open to the public through August 12.

The ship, based in Sevilla, Spain, is similar to one used by St. Augustine’s founder Don Pedro Menendez de Aviles, who established the city in 1565.

The ship left to visit New York and was also used in the filming of the television “Crossbones” on location in Puerto Rico.
