TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A Tucson man accused of making 18 separate bomb threats in the past two weeks has turned himself in.

Tucson police say 42-year-old Octavio Acosta surrendered Saturday morning to authorities at the Port of Entry in Douglas.

Sgt. Kimberly Bay says Acosta has been booked into Cochise County Jail on an outstanding felony arrest warrant for hoax, interference with an educational institution and false reporting.

Authorities say Acosta allegedly called in threats to health centers, churches, schools and government buildings in the Tucson area.

The hoaxes resulted in buildings being evacuated or classes being disrupted for several hours.

It was not immediately known if he had an attorney to comment on his behalf.
