LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say a 20-year-old woman was killed in a crash while traveling on Interstate 15 in Las Vegas.

The Nevada Highway Patrol reports the incident happened Saturday around 7:30 a.m.

According to officials, a Jeep Grand Cherokee was approaching an off-ramp from Interstate 15 to Interstate 215 West when it veered off.

The vehicle then rolled down an embankment, landing on the I-15 ramp going south.

Trooper Jason Buratczuk says the impact threw the female driver from the vehicle.

She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

She was the car’s sole occupant.

The NHP has closed the exit ramp, just south of the Strip, for their investigation.

Buratczuk says it’s not yet clear if speed or impairment were factors.

Her name is being withheld pending family notification.
