MIAMI (AP) - Washington right-hander Joe Ross left the Nationals’ against Miami in the third inning Wednesday with a blister on his right middle finger.

Ross wore a bandage on his finger after the game, and said it began to bother him when he threw a slider in the first inning. He has had a blister problem before and said the worst-case scenario is that he might miss one start.

“I think it should be fine, hopefully,” he said.

Ross walked in the third and scored on a double by Bryce Harper. Leading 2-0, Ross was replaced in the bottom of the inning by Yusmeiro Petit.

Ross has allowed only one run in 16 2/3 innings in three starts this season.
